Perspectives Coordinator Workshop at The Journey Outpost
Over the weekend we had the privilege of hosting a Perspectives Coordinator Workshop. God is raising up leaders who have a passion for the Great Commission.
At some point for each of us, we began to look at the world from God’s point of view and not our own. We began to consider the work of God throughout history and how we might be used for His purpose. This included an awareness of the enormous complexity of culture and strategic opportunity. Through Perspectives we were invited to join a movement.
What is Perspectives?
Perspectives is a view of God himself who is actively pursuing the fulfillment of His promise and how each believer might co-labor with Christ in His timeless and global purpose.
Why Perspectives?
It grows vision. Students undergo a paradigm shift from self-centered or world-centered focus to a God-centered focus. The course clarifies God’s desire to be known and glorified by all nations, tongues, tribes and peoples of the world. It is a redemption story whose end is nothing less than the restoration of a relationship with God and all the peoples of the World.
It gives purpose. This course is about being a part of God’s timeless purpose and global promise. Our lives belong to God. Living for kingdom purpose redirects our life. This is the same vision which empowered Christ to live His life with joy, hope and passion.
It gives hope. This is not our purpose but His. He started it and He will complete it. We have the joy of getting to be a part of it. We are told in Revelation that there will be people from every tribe, tongue and nation worshiping the the Lamb. What we see in eternity happens first in history and we are invited to witness and partake of this great promise. This is not a hope that is unsure, it is a certainty and that assurance along with His presence gives us the ability to endure.
It unifies the body of Christ. It gives people clear definitions for common but often misunderstood terms. It gives us common purpose and prepares us to work together as a body with other churches and organizations to see Jesus glorified among all the peoples of the earth.
