A TEAM THAT PLAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER!

It’s not very often that staff at The Journey takes some time out of the office to do something different from the norm, but when we do, we like to make it count!  By working and playing as a team, we bring out the best in each other! When we play we free ourselves up and a true and often unseen part of ourselves can become visible. Leadership qualities and confidence can be shown as we create a safe space. When we are relaxed and playing we are present. Being present with one another definitely leads to better relationships.

Our team leader Greg Taylor has been working on getting his Doctor of Ministry at Phillips Theological Seminary, and last week Wednesday our team decided to show up at the Phillips Seminary chapel service in love and support for Greg since he had been out of the office for the past two weeks, and we missed him dearly.  We value the time we got to spend with Greg, worshipping together, listening to a great sermon about building bridges of love, and just being present and getting to share in this area of his life.

Our next stop of the day brought us to Downtown Tulsa courtesy of our youth intern Michelle who didn’t know Tulsa had a downtown! This excursion really turned out to be a great opportunity to share with our summer interns how we work together and make it fun at the same time! This involved going to a coffee shop and getting some of our morning tasks accomplished, before heading to the Guthrie Green Food Truck Wednesday and eating lunch together. It was a beautiful day to be out and about, and a lot of fun productive things happened!
