While living in Jinja, Uganda, we rafted with Nile River Explorers several times with friends, mostly when visitors came. The first video is us on the treacherous “Total Ganja” wide yet swift section of the Nile. We came out after the video ends and bobbed in the huge swells and gasped for air when we could.
This is us tumping on the famous “Bujagali Falls,” a Grade 5 rapid that ate us for lunch and dinner. We all popped out alive and well and laughing . . . after a few seconds under water.

So how are we supposed to recruit missionaries to go to West Africa if you post videos like that?
Anthony, my first recommendation is to never show pictures/video. My second is to lie (about the heat and the scenery). 🙂
Bobby, You were there during the cool season!
(Greg, sorry to hijack your comments for a personal conversation.)
Uh, I don’t know that these videos would steer me away from West Africa. Rafting the Nile was the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I still can’t believe I’m alive. (Granted, I’m not a strong swimmer)
It makes for a great story, though!
G-money, good talk today. thanks dude
Great adventure. Wish I was there.
