SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY PREVIEW
“We remember the fish we used to eat in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.” Numbers 11:5-6

We’ll be covering Numbers 10-12 this Sunday morning. The Israelites are getting cranky wondering around the wilderness. They start complaining so much! They’re ready to just go back to Egypt. How ridiculous!! Seriously though, I feel like that’s one of the dumbest things one of them could have said but they were all for it. God hears everything we say and heard everything these people were saying. Instead of going to God to talk about how they’re feeling, they do it amongst themselves and then start complaining to Moses who then starts complaining to God. God helps Moses but then we have Miriam and Aaron start criticizing Moses. God in Chapter 12 seems like a disappointed parent who had put Moses in charge and Miriam and Aaron can’t stop griping. God is not happy with them all and lays down the law. Stating that Moses is the one he trusts. Miriam gets leprosy and Moses pleads with God to not punish her with death for the sins they have committed. God shows grace and after 7 days of sitting outside the camp, Miriam returned.
Questions for the family
What do you complain most about?
What are you going to do about those complaints?
How can you as a family move closer to God with your complaints and seek after God’s guidance in those situations?
