From Sojourners this week . . .
Study is hard work. It is so much easier to find something else to do in its place than to stay at the grind of it. We have excuses aplenty for avoiding the dull, hard, daily attempt to learn. There is always something so much more important to do than reading. There is always some excuse for not stretching our souls with new ideas and insights now or yet or ever.

Greg,
Excellent post.
God wants us to learn more and more about Him. It takes so much more than reading it takes studying. It does strengthen our souls when we study. I stress to the congregation that I work with that there is a difference in knowing about God and knowing God. God wants a relationship with us. I believe for so many years we in the CofC have confused the two. We know about God, but we don’t know God personally. Again, excellant post. I want you to know that I am looking forward to reading more of your blog and have been blessed by your blog. Your ministry is in my prayers. May God bless you as you serve Him. I hope you have a great week as you serve Him and continue to make a difference in the Kingdom.
Craddock told a group of ministers one time, “I”m always susipicious of the easy way.”
