What is the number one killer in the world?
It depends on what world you’re living in.
The American Heart Association claims heart disease is the number one killer in the U.S., killing seven million yearly.
Cancer kills more in England and Wales than heart disease, according to the BBC.
AIDS is the number one killer in South Africa. Nearly a third of the population are said to have HIV or AIDS.
WHO estimates 1.3 million yearly are killed by malaria. All of my family members have had malaria, and we survived, but we were wealthy enough (even as missionaries!) to buy necessary drugs. We prayed a lot but I want to be both honest and faithful with what “saved” us–was it prayer, the drugs, or both?
Now for the kicker. What is the number one killer in the world?
Common diarrhoeal diseases. 1.8 million people die every year from diarrhoeal diseases (including cholera); 90 percent are children under five years old, mostly in developing countries, according to WHO.

The worlds biggest killer is the state (ie governments) do your research (real research) and you will find the same answer…. and don’t use CNN, Fox etc… for any information you claim as truth, cause you’ll be wrong.
If heart disease kills 7 million Americans yearly, then how can common diarrhoeal diseases be a bigger killer by killing 1.8 million?
It is my understanding that cancer kills most Americans, but thats not what I wanted to know. My question was “what is the one thing that kills the most people in the world, or in other words what causes most people to die.”
BJ, good eye, the heart disease statistic is wrong its more like 700,000 a year. The diarrheal statistic is wrong as well. 1.8 children under the age of 5 die every year. while 2.2 million people of all ages die every year from diarrheal related illness.
Funny part is, I used the same sources they did to find these results. Someone really sucks at copying statistics.

Lol i am unemployed and can tell you experts you are ALL wrong. Malaria is the no. 1 global killer. USED to be diahrreal infections pre-2000. Heart disease is biggest killer in US. Learned that in community college five years ago people! jesus read a book for christ’s sake!
